Education Voters of Ohio Executive Director Julian Rogers has authored a new op-ed on the prospects for reform of the state’s educational system.
He writes:
The winds of change breathing new life into a weary nation have reached Ohio.
Vital, new energy is evident throughout the Great Lakes region and across our
state. Optimism, although cautious, is visible. And challenges—even those that
have persisted for decades—no longer loom without hope.
Against this promising backdrop, prospects for reforming and renewing public
education and the deeply flawed mechanism by which it is funded in Ohio are
further encouraged by an extraordinary convergence of circumstances. Together,
they signal a rare opportunity to focus on a conflict that we have all been losing
for far too long.
